Dayseeker Release Single “Vultures”, New Album “Dreaming Is Sinking /// Waking Is Rising” Details

Metalcore band Dayseeker have released the first single, with accompanying music video, from their new album to be released later this year. “Dreaming Is Sinking /// Waking Is Rising” releases on July 14 and is available for preorder through MerchNow. The new album is a concept album about a man who’s fallen into a deep coma and his long-winded journey to escape the mental prison he finds himself in.

The album artwork for “Dreaming Is Sinking /// Waking Is Rising” is gorgeous

The first single “Vultures” is about one of the band’s friends who was sexually assaulted, which the music video also depicts. It’ll be interesting to see how it ties into the concept over the course of the rest of the album. You can watch the music video below.

Glasslands Release Debut Music Video “Back And Forth”

Glasslands have released a new music video for their song Back And Forth from their debut album Pariah, released last year. This is their first music video in the approx. four years as a band.

Glasslands is the latest project of Josh Kincheloe (formerly of Icon For Hire), with Brandon Mullins (ex-Beartooth) and Jordan DiSorbo (Before Their Eyes). I’m a big fan of all the aforementioned bands, in a way that makes Glasslands a bit of a supergroup. Their style has been labelled “dreamcore” by some for it’s blend of ambience and post-hardcore, I think that term suits them perfectly.

The video shows a young woman locked inside a room with a video feed of a terrifying hooded figure. However once she is able to break the TV, the figure disappears, implying that he was just a monster inside her head. This follows on from several recent videos from bands such as Beartooth and Silent Planet that also deal with mental health, depression and anxiety.

Back And Forth was one of my least favourite tracks on Pariah, but the music video has given it a whole new meaning.

Silent Planet’s Moving New Video For “Understanding Love As Loss”

Christian metalcore band Silent Planet have released a chilling new video for Understanding Love As Loss, from their monumental album Everything Was Sound.

The video is a re-enactment of sorts of the suicide of one of singer Garrett Russell‘s favourite authors, Virginia Woolf. It was a trend that among several of his favourite authors, and the song explores that.

The link between their artistic gifts and taking their life was something I wanted to examine

Like much of Silent Planet’s content, it’s very difficult to describe and especially give justice to, just watch the video below to see for yourself.

Garrett further explains the meaning of the song in an interview as part of a track-by-track analysis of the album.

It’s Okay To Not Be Okay – New Video For “That’s Just Life” by Memphis May Fire

“It’s okay to not be okay” – that’s the message from Memphis May Fire following their new music video for “That’s Just Life” taken from their latest album This Light I Hold.

The video is powerful and uplifting and really adds to the song. I love how Memphis May Fire’s ballads really bring out just how beautiful Matty Mullins‘ voice is.

There is hope, it is never too late for anyone.

Beartooth Release Music Video For “Sick Of Me” With Aggressive Deluxe Edition

Beartooth have released an unconventional music video for “Sick Of Me“. The video highlights a number of personal stories of suffers of anxiety and depression, similar to Good Charlotte‘s video for Hold On. As a result the video does feel a little disjointed but it’s great to see awareness being raised and showing that it can be overcome. Caleb hasn’t been shy about his struggles with anxiety and depression and form the basis for most of Beartooth’s songs.

Sick Of Me is probably my favourite song off Aggressive. I really connect with the message of the song about winning the battle within our own minds and the new music does the meaning of the song justice.

This coincides with the release of the deluxe edition of Aggressive, including 6 new tracks (acoustic and live versions of songs already on the album). Listen on Spotify below.

Of Mice & Men Drop 🔥 New Single “Back To Me”

Of Mice & Men have released their second single (with accompanying music video) since the departure of Austin Carlile, “Back To Me“. No screams on this one but it’s even better than Unbreakable. This one’s going straight onto repeat for the next few days I imagine.

The band will be releasing both new tracks on a special edition 7″ vinyl available in two designs (link, link) that are available for pre-order now. I am hopeful they will also be released on CD in some form. Whether that be a 2 song single or on the next full length album I’m not fussed as long as I can get my hands on a physical copy.

You can watch the new music video below.
