Good Charlotte Release Music Video For “War”

Good Charlotte have released a new video for War, from their comeback album Youth Authority. War was my favourite song off the album, and the heaviest.

The video follows a young boy growing up in an abusive household which hit a little too close to home for me.

Dayseeker Release “Sleep In The Sea Part 2” With Silent Planet’s Garrett Russell

Dayseeker have released their third single, Sleep In The Sea Part 2, from their new album Dreaming Is Sinking /// Waking Is Rising, which will be released on Friday. The track features guest vocals from Silent Planet‘s Garrett Russell. The song hit Spotify on Friday, followed by the music video today.

The band was forced to announce the release via Silent Planet’s Facebook page as Dayseeker’s official page was hacked. They have finally got control of the page back, although it looks like they have lost some of their data.

I got an email yesterday saying my pre-order had just been shipped. Unfortunately that means there’ll be about 4 weeks until I actually get my hands on my purchase, but regardless this is going to be one of the most anticipated albums on 2017.

New Music Video For Wovenwar’s Cascade

Wovenwar have released a new music video for Cascade off their latest album Honor Is Dead. This song features bassist Josh Gilbert doing the bulk of the vocals which is great as he’s a very underrated singer.

Honor Is Dead was one of those albums that I had to leave alone and come back to to really appreciate how good it is. It doesn’t have the variety of their debut album but is much heavier and a lot of their songs are catchier.

The Amity Affliction Release Gory Music Video For “Can’t Feel My Face” Cover

The Amity Affliction have released a new cover with music video of The Weekend’s Can’t Feel My Face. The song is taken from the upcoming Punk Goes Pop Volume 7. The video shows a band of vigilantes taking down zombies in a high school or college campus.

Personally, I think the cover could have been better. It sounds way too similar to Our Last Night’s cover of the same song. That’s not to say it’s bad, but just that they should have gone for a different style, for instance full on heaviness like August Burns Red’s cover of Wrecking Ball.

New Music Video For The Devil Wears Prada’s Worldwide

The Devil Wears Prada have released a new video for their track Worldwide from their 2016 album Transit Blues. The video alternates between the band and a woman who appears to be training a robot.

Singer Mike Hranica explained the origins of the song to Metal Hammer last year:

This is by far our most upbeat ‘pop’ song. The last time we played Tokyo, me and our keyboardist Jon (Gering) were walking through Shibuya thoroughly drunk. Jon has a habit of making little joke songs so he started singing this chorus, we laughed and I said we’d record it someday. Fast forward a few years and we’ve actually made it into a song! There’s something nostalgic about it now – we’re a simple bunch.

Fit For A King Release Music Video For Deathgrip

Fit For A King have released a new music video for the title track from their latest album, Deathgrip.

Vocalist Ryan Kirby explained the meaning behind the song:

This song is one of the only true ‘fiction’ songs we’ve written. It’s about a person witnessing the end of the world, and their description of the event and how they’re dealing with it.

Nickelback Release Touching New Music Video For “Song On Fire”

The hits just keep coming from Nickelback with the release of their new music video for Song On Fire, taken from their new album Feed The Machine which is released on Friday. This comes after yesterday’s release of their third single Must Be Nice.

Chad Kroeger said about the song:

“As we were working on this song, a very personal one for me, we all instantly connected to it on different levels through our own experiences.

“Everyone has a need to love or be loved and we’ve all been hurt or felt loss. It’s about your heart yearning for something that your rational mind knows is impossible to hold on to. There is a universally, haunting finality to losing love and we found ‘our protagonist’ (in this song) trying to reclaim it; but not knowing where to begin or that it might ultimately be in vain.”

The video is in the same style as the amazing Lullaby, and just as moving. You can watch it below.

As good as that video is I’m still trying to get used to seeing Chad with short hair.

Thousand Below Finally Release A New Song

Almost 6 months after coming out of nowhere with the killer single Tradition that left us craving more, post-hardcore unit Thousand Below have finally given fans some new music with their latest single Sinking Me.

The new track isn’t quite as catchy as Tradition but it’s still very good and features a sick breakdown. Lead vocalist James shows off a greater vocal range, which reminds me of Underoath and Close Your Eyes.

Please drop an album already.

PS hurry up and get it on Spotify.
