Back when Last.fm introduced their new Spotify Scrobbling Beta you couldn’t scrobble tracks that were only available locally and not in Spotify’s library. This was really annoying as I have a number of songs that aren’t available on Spotify (such as some deluxe edition CDs where only the standard edition is on Spotify), and a regression from Spotify’s internal scrobbler, which is now deprecated.
I noticed today that the deluxe edition tracks from Storm The Gates Of Hell scrobbled when they were played and I couldn’t be happier. I checked the announcement and it’s also been updated to state that local file scrobbling is now supported.
I’m not sure when it was introduced but this is fantastic news regardless.
